Predictive Index
The Predictive Index® (PI®) is a unique, quick, reliable and validated assessment tool. Once processed, it produces a PI profile that mirrors the natural workplace behaviors and roles of prospective and existing employees. Another approach, the Performance Requirement Options tool (PRO), provides insight into the behavior and drive necessary for superior performance for all the positions in your organization.

The PI Survey: The Predictive Index survey appears to be simplistic in design; however, it is a sophisticated instrument and the results are uncannily detailed and accurate. Users describe themselves and their role by choosing from a list of adjectives. The adjective checklist is available in 60 languages and in Braille, and works similarly in all cultures. It can be filled either online or in paper-pencil mode.
The PI Profile: The PI profile is instantly drawn from the survey. It mirrors relatively stable and predictable behaviors, and enables fast and accurate analyses of the behaviors, drives and motivations  of employees. It also determines other aspects of  personality, such as the management style, communication style, ability to delegate, skills development, innovative skills, decision making skills and problem solving abilities. The PI profile also reflects how an employee adapts to his or her environment and the stimulation in the actual position. It gives accurate directions for improving morale, engagement and effectiveness.
The PRO: The PRO helps managers understand the specific behaviors, drives and motivations that lead to the most effective performance in a particular job, given the organization's culture, leadership style, market strategy and business processes.

The PRO also provides insight into similarities and differences that generally exist in different individuals' approaches to the same jobs.

Brief History of PI
The Predictive Index PI System was created in the 1950s by Arnold S. Daniels. After helping to develop tests to fill U.S. Air Force positions, Daniels became convinced that his techniques would play a valuable role in business, where they were virtually unknown.

The first statistically proven prototypes of what became known as the PI System were developed over the next few years. In 1955, the first generation PI survey and training course were launched. The PI seminar was originally delivered in a five-day format. Later, it underwent constant improvements, thanks to continuing interaction with a growing number of associates and users.

In the 1970s, Arnold S. Daniels Associates was incorporated as Praendex Inc. Over the next 30 years, improved versions of the survey developed, as well as new methods to evaluate positions. Translations and validations in more languages were accompanied by refinements in the seminar itself, which was then presented in a 3-day format.

Today, Praendex Inc. trades under the name of PI Worldwide® with a network of more than 40 licensees and 200 associates in all regions of the world, and with a global client base of more than 7,500 companies and 53,000 active PI users. The PI Survey is presently in its fourth generation and exists in 60 languages. It is the most highly developed, accurate and practical system of its kind.
